ABOUT ME
As a young child, spent hours and hours alone doing art,
building treehouses and cities out of cardboard boxes and doing crafts
with my artistic mother for years and years.
Education
Bachelor of Fine Arts, Oklahoma State University, 1975
Though my only regret now in my life is that I did not go to the Rhode Island School of Design,
I still feel like my degree in general fine art was a sufficient to do my work.
Work Experience
Illustration/Designer in Retail Advertising, Foley's Dept. Store, Houston, 1975 - 1977
Illustration/Designer in Retail Advertising, Filene's Dept. Store, Boston, 1986 - 1989
Illustration/Designer in Retail Advertising, Filene's Basement, Boston, 1986 - 1988
PLM, Inc. Adverstising Agency, 1977 - 1984
I had my own agency doing illustration, design work for newspaper,
magazine, billboard companies for retail. This was before computer technology where everything was done by hand.
Personal
Mother of three so I turned my arttistic talent to the schools and taught young children art.
I slowly started getting back into my own expression and show every year on a 30 foot x 12 foot wall
in our carriage house with 12 other artists.
The work you see is from that period.
I love doing installation work. I do a lot of my work to raise money for various charities.
I have done a lot of my work around my own life and around the theme of love.
You can get a feel for my future work by clicking New Work.
I have thought a lot about why I do art and how I see myself as a serious artist.
I am all about connecting in an up close and personal way with the viewer.
I imagine if I ever had a show in a gallery, I see myself sitting there every day waiting to interact with each viewer.
I am also involved in spreading love throughout the world with my You Are Loved - Pass It On project.
